News : New Updates!
Posted by James on 2008/3/8 16:40:00 (244 reads)

It has been a while since this VSN website has been updated...don't worry, we're still alive! A few new comments and resources have been added, along with new links, a poll and questions.

The Virtual Sailor Net YouTube Channel is still available, however there have been no new updates to that as yet. If anyone would like to create their own VSN tutorial then feel free to do so and let us know!

Also remember that you can always submit your own news, links, questions etc. However, we currently have a backlog of approximately 1000 articles/questions to look through so it might be best to wait a few days until those have been cleared up - most of which are spam anyway!

If you have any suggestions as to how the site could be improved, please feel free to let as know - it has been a very long time without any updates!

News : Video Tutorials
Posted by James on 2007/5/28 11:06:49 (1332 reads)

VSN has recently been experimenting with using video tutorials via YouTube to help explain things in a more interactive way. We have already put together one (very!) basic tutorial showing you how to open VS, just to see whether or not the idea would work. All video tutorials will be available in the knowledge base, and can be identified by the words [Video Tutorial] in brackets next to the tutorial title.

Our first video tutorial in the knowledge base can be found here.

We have also introduced a few more updates in different locations around the site. Firstly, there is now a "contact us" form which registered members will be able to use should they experience any problems with the site. Secondly, at the bottom of the home page we have added two new boxes: 'Recent Q&A' and 'Latest Published Articles' for you to quickly see the latest updates.

Also a reminder from Navigare's recent news article, you can visit the "Virtual Mediterranean Ferries" website by clicking here. Please note that this virtual company is independent of VSN.

News

A brand new virtual shipping company "Virtual Mediterranean Ferries" has been launched and will provide users with routes and assignments to navigate through VS sceneries. You will be able to operate VMF-listed vessels on routes which they run. There are plans to expand the freight and cruising divisions in the future.

We are continuously trying to add new content as an ongoing project and in order to help us complete this we would like to invite you to submit your own reviews, links, FAQs, downloads and stories. To be able to do this you will need to register for a free account on VSN and the following links will guide you to submitting your own content. Remember that you do not need to register if you only wish to browse the website.
